The ACTA is an open organization established by the FCC and jointly sponsored by the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS) and the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA). The mission of the ACTA is to:
- adopt technical criteria and to act as the clearing‐house, publishing technical criteria for terminal equipment (Part 68 Compliance/scope C) developed by ANSI‐accredited standards development organizations; and
- establish and maintain a registration database of equipment approved as compliant with the technical criteria.

The Administrative Council for Terminal Attachments (ACTA) announces that the Responsible Parties may now validate their Responsible Party Code (RPC) data for the 2023 calendar year. The established fee for RPC Data Validation is $125.00. A discounted rate of $95.00 will be in effect from October 1, 2022, through February 1, 2023. RPC Data must be validated on an annual basis.

Effective March 29, 2022, the Administrative Council for Terminal Attachments (ACTA) has revised its Guidelines & Procedures for Submittal of Information to the ACTA for Inclusion in the Database of Approved Telephone Terminal Equipment (ACTA Submission Guidelines).
