ACTA Recommends FCC Increase Efforts to Enforce Part 68 Hearing Aid Compatibility Requirements February 22, 2011, Washington, DC - The Administrative Council for Terminal Attachments (ACTA) has recommended that the FCC tighten its enforcement of Part 68 non-compliance. Specifically, it urges the FCC to clarify that VoIP phones must meet the hearing aid compatibility and volume control rules in Part 68 of the FCC regulations and that these products be listed in the ACTA database of approved terminal equipment.

Effective January 1, 2011, the Administrative Council for Terminal Attachments (ACTA) announces the rollout of a new, annual ACTA Responsible Party Code (RPC) Data Validation Program. This Program will require Responsible Parties to validate the data ascribed to their organization on an annual basis, whether or not new equipment was registered in the calendar year.

The Administrative Council for Terminal Attachments (ACTA) will require Responsible Parties, whether they obtain their terminal equipment approval from a Telecommunications Certification Body or utilize the Supplier's Declaration of Conformity process, to provide contact information (name, address, phone number, etc.) for a 'US Product Information Contact.' This Contact is defined as: 'A point of contact accessible within the USA for additional product information (for example, repair, servicing, instructions, technical support, etc.).'
